Condition B: restored losses, repaired tears and restoration in corners and margins; unobtrusive vertical and horizontal folds. Color and image excellent.
Geraudel was an inventive chemist who made a fortune selling pastilles (cough drops) and this cure-all purgative. The key to his success was his sense of advertising. He took advantage of the new medium of posters and regularly availed himself of the medium's earliest acclaimed master; Cheret. This poster originally appeared as a vertical two-sheet (8 feet tall), which was one of Cheret's favorite formats because it allowed him to create larger-than-life Cherettes<>. He used the same image on this smaller-format poster, making a few graphic changes to accommodate the size. Maindron 745, Broido 901.
