Watson in ink on frontispiece verso; illustrated with photographic frontispiece, eight color plates, folding map and numerous text illustrations; publisher's navy cloth stamped in gold, vignette of explorer with dog sled and American flag stamped in red, white, blue and gray, teg; frontispiece and a few other color plates with some foxing and offsetting, map chipped at outer edge with two-inch split to interior crease; a touch of rubbing to extremities; ex libris Thomas L.
