Octavo, bound in a full Parisian mid-16th century calf elaborately tooled and gilt with interlaced strapwork set off on a pointillé field with interlaced initials in the central compartments and owner's name to top of front board; strapwork painted in a royal blue with slight losses; spine similarly decorated with hatched floral tools; all edges gilt; joints repaired with an overlaid material, now becoming detached; bound by Wotton's binder III C; ex libris Girolamo Fiorvaneti [or Fieraventi] with inscription to title and name tooled on front board; signature of Paulo Toloma on front free endleaf; unidentified bookplate with the motto "Quae tegit ornat"; Edmee Maus book ticket with initials; ex libris Michel Wittock collection with bookplate, offered in his Christies London sale in 2004; 6 1/8 x 3 7/8 in.
