Karl Priebe (1914-1976) was part of what was referred to as the Wisconsin Surrealist School of painting. This little archive includes 6 small watercolors with Afrocentric themes on postcards which Priebe sent to Van Vechten. Also included are 15 photographs by Van Vechten.
