Named after prominent American cities, the sister ships Manhattan and Washington served the United States Lines. They were built in Camden, New Jersey and launched in 1932 and 1933 respectively. Here, Manhattan's impressive skyscrapers, bathed in the shadows of sunset, appear small in comparison to the liner gracefully steaming out of New York Harbor. This is the German version.
