The topic of a number of works by Soyer, the Bowery Mission provided food and shelter to men and boys who were casualties of the Depression and hard times. Established in about 1878, the Christian Herald Association continues serve the New York community from the Bowery Mission at 33 The Bowery.
Hand colored impressions such as these are extremely scarce. We have not found another hand colored impression of either subject at auction. Cole 27.
