With over one million Canadians having served in the army during World War I their return home caused a huge disruption in the economy and the fabric of society. Here, standing before two literal windows of opportunity (manufacturing and factory life, and the rural agrarian existence) a returning soldier contemplates his choices. Postwar readjustment was also a theme in American posters, but the U.S. does not seem to have spent money raised through bonds as part of their program of reassimilation.
