Work on New World fauna and flora first published in 1675. This edition forms Volume 2 of Redi's Opusculorum pars prior[-tomus alter]. Plate subjects include armadillo, iguana, mermaid, Mexican black pepper, cinchona plant, vanilla beans, etc. The book also contains a Latin translation of Redi's 1664 Osservazioni intorno alle Vipere, "the first methodical work on snake-poison" (Garrison-Morton).
