Etching and drypoint, circa 1630s. 152x120 mm; 6x4 3/4 inches, narrow margins. A very good, dark and early impression on thin, cream laid paper.

This is one of approximately 5 lifetime copies after Rembrandt's early etched portrait of his mother, from circa 1631, which attests to its popularity at the time. The subject of this copy is in reverse of Rembrandt's original etching. The New Hollstein lists this copy as by an artist in Rembrandt's workshop. New Hollstein 91a.
