REMBRANDT VAN RIJN
Bald Man in a Fur Cloak.

Etching, 1631. 70x62 mm; narrow margins. Biörklund's third state (of 3); Usticke's third state (of 3), though with the signature upper left distinct; White and Boon's third state (of 3). Ex-collection Cambradge University Library (Lugt 2475, verso). A very good impression of this extremely scarce portrait, with strong contrasts and partially inky plate edges.

According to Biörklund, this was etched by another artist, though it is accepted as many as Rembrandt's work.

We have found only 3 other impressions at auction in the past 25 years. Bartsch 324; Biörklund Rej. 61; Hollstein (White and Boon) 324.
