REMBRANDT VAN RIJN
Beggar Man and Woman Behind a Bank.

Etching and drypoint, circa 1630. 110x81 mm; 4 3/8x3 1/4 inches, narrow to thread margins. Biörklund's fourth state (of 9); Usticke's second state (of 7); White and Boon's fourth state (of 9), before the third and final reduction of the plate. Ex-collection Ambroise Firmin-Didot (Lugt 119, verso). A very good, dark and well-inked impression of this extremely scarce etching, with strong contrasts and no sign of wear.
