Double-headed eagle watermark (Hinterding C-a-b; the identical watermark is on the first state impressions of this subject in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Morgan Library and Museum, New York; and the Art Institute of Chicago). Ex-collection Henry Harper Benedict (Lugt 2963, verso). A superb, dark, early impression with strong contrasts and burr on the disciples' heads and distant buildings.
