FROM THE CHALON, REISS AND SEELIGMANN COLLECTIONS REMBRANDT VAN RIJN
Joseph's Coat Brought to Jacob.

Etching and drypoint, circa 1633. 108x83 mm; 4¼x3¼ inches, small to thread margins. Biörklund's first state (of 2); Usticke's first state (of 3), with the second thumb below the pointing man's hand printing strongly; White and Boon's first state (of 2). Ex-collection Jan Chalon (Lugt 439, verso); James Reiss (Lugt 1522, verso); and Gustav Seeligmann, pencil inscription verso (Lugt 1215). A superb, early impression, with burr on the sleeve of the man with the outstretched arm and dark, inky plate edges, consistent with the earliest impressions of this print. Bartsch 38; Biörklund 33-1; Hollstein (White and Boon) 38.
