Old Bearded Man in a High Fur Cap, with Eyes Closed.

Etching, circa 1635. 112x101 mm; 4 1/2x4 inches. Usticke's first state (of 5), before the scratches in the background and the curved scratch above the cap and before the rework. Counter mark with the letters GI (Ash/Fletcher 26, which Heawood dates to around 1687). Ex-collection Carl Wiesböck (Lugt 2576, verso). Trimmed on the plate mark.
