REMBRANDT VAN RIJN
Saskia with Pearls in her Hair.

Etching, 1634. 84x67 mm; 3 3/8x2 3/4 inches. Biörklund's second state (of 2); Usticke's first state (of 2), with the outline of the nose still broken in places; White and Boon's second state (of 2). Partial Arms of Württemberg (?) watermark (Ash/Fletcher 9, which they have found on prints dating primarily from the early 1630s). Trimmed on or just inside the plate mark. A superb, well-inked impression of this extremely scarce print.

We have found only 14 other impressions at auction in the past 20 years. Bartsch 347; Biörklund 34-C; Hollstein (White and Boon) 347.
