Ex-collection Berthold Gottlieb Emanuel Haller (Lugt supplement 1230a, verso); and Musée des Beaux-Arts, Bern (Lugt supplement 236a, verso). Expertly-restored loss upper 3/8-inch of the print, into the hair at the upper center, with thread margins or trimmed on the plate mark on other 3 sides. A good, well-inked impression of this extremely scarce print.
According to Usticke, "A very scarce portrait rarely fine (RR-)." We have found only 6 other impressions at auction in the past 20 years. Bartsch 10; Biörklund 30-M; Hollstein (White and Boon) 10.
