Biörklund's first state (of 2), with the scratched signature barely visible upper left; Usticke's first state (of 3); New Hollstein first state (of 3), before the reinforcement of the signature. The letters W R from a Strasburg Lily watermark (Hinterding ZZ.zz at page 225; he cites another impression in the first state with this watermark in the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris). A superb, crisp, evenly-printed impression with strong contrasts and no sign of wear, consistent with the earliest impressions of this subject.
