Etching, engraving and drypoint, 1654. 95x143 mm; 3 3/4x5 3/4 inches, narrow margins. Usticke's second state (of 3); New Hollstein's only state, before the scratches on the Virgin's knee and lap and before the later 18th century Basan impressions. A superb, dark, richly-inked impression with strong contrasts and no sign of wear.

Provenance: Johan Peter Samuel Guildal, Copenhagen, with the ink stamp verso (Lugt 1110a); his sale, V.
