Biörklund's fifth state (of 5); Usticke's third state (e) (of 3), with traces of burr to the right of the right forearm; White and Boon's fifth state (of 5). Strasburg Lily watermark (Ash/Fletcher 36; there are similar watermarks on impressions of this subject in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York). Ex-collection Cambridge University, Fitzwilliam Museum (Lugt 2475, verso). A superb, dark and evenly-printed impression of this scarce etching, with all the fine lines showing clearly and with little to no sign of wear.
