RENÉ GRUAU (RENATO DE ZAVAGLI, 1909-2004) BLIZZAND / TERGAL BOUSSAC. 1959.

Condition B+: creases, abrasions and restoration in margins and image.
In addition to being the most acclaimed fashion illustrator of the post-war years, Gruau was first and foremost a poster designer, by his own words "fashion illustration has been an accident in my life, advertising and posters has been a choice." His most emblematic campaigns were for Dior (for whom he worked for over 30 years), Le Rouge Basier, Le Lido and Blizzand, a brand of raincoats for whom he designed advertising from the mid 1950s through the mid-1960s. Very few of Gruau's posters feature detailed backgrounds; fewer still depict any technological element, making this stylish car a welcomed anomaly within his oeuvre.
