Each on tan wove paper, one on dark green wove paper, 1939. Each 240x215 mm; 9½x8½ inches. Each inscribed with descriptive text in ink, lower margin, one signed and dated in ink, lower left. Each in good condition.

Portocarrero (1912-1986) was a professor at the Paintings and Sculptures Free Studies directed by Eduardo Abela in 1939. During the 1940s, he was one of the young Cuban painters whose version of modernism helped define collections of Latin American Art of the midcentury.
