RICHARD AVEDON. Avedon: Photographs 1947-1977. This rare and personal copy of Avedon's important title includes four pieces of ephemera taped in, all from Avedon to his model Dovima, including two photographs, a signed letter, and a signed card. First, a color photograph of Dovima posing in front of the iconic image Dovima with Elephants dated "NYC 1979" (presumably at the same exhibit referenced below), next a typed letter signed on his letterhead from Avedon "Dearest Dovima,/Some people have it and some people can't give it/away and you've got it./Still and always." Below this a card signed to Dovima, and on the following page a silver print of Avedon and Dovima inscribed "Avedon Exhibit at Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC 1979." Design by Elizabeth Paul.
