Wilhelm Hoffmann was among the first printers to advertise the business of printing posters. Most well-known is the poster designed in 1896 by Otto Fischer, promoting Hoffmann's Studio of Modern Posters in Dresden, which appeared in the Maîtres de l'Affiche, garnering recognition from poster aficionados around the world. That same year, Hoffman issued this other rare poster, which is a masterful typographic flight of fancy, combining Jugendstil decorative elements with intricate lettering in different sizes and colors.
