K.K. ÖSTERREICHISCHE STAATSBAHNEN BÖHMEN. Circa 1913.

Czech-Austrian sculptor, graphic artist and puppeteer, Teschner spent most of his career working in Vienna, and was a member of the Wiener Werkstätte. He became best known for his 140 elaborately-decorated, Viennese Art Nouveau puppets, which he staged in theatrical performances for over four decades. Teschner created a few poster designs, including at least two travel posters for the Kaiserlich-Königlich [Imperial - Royal] Austro-Hungarian Railway route within the Czech lands. This one features a view of Prague's Charles Bridge, Mala Strana and the statue of Saint Wenceslas, sculpted by Josef Václav Myslbek . The statue was unveiled in 1913. One of the insets at the bottom depicts the castle of Karlstejn and the other one of the sulfur fountains at the famed Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) spa town. This is the German version.
