A rare, early American movie poster for the first feature-length baseball movie starring "Turkey" Mike Donlin (so named because of his strut) and John McGraw. Known as "Little Napoleon", McGraw was one of baseball's all-time greatest managers and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1937. He is the all time number 2 manager in baseball history. Throughout his 30 years as a manager he brought 10 pennants to the NY Giants. McGraw's manner was tough, even abrasive, but he was a brilliant tactician who brought many recognizable modern elements to the game of baseball. "He gave the game the 'hit and run' play. He modernized the use of the bunt in the contemporary strategies of the game. He was the first manager to hire a player for the sole purpose of pinch-hitting. He also utilized pitchers exclusively out of the bullpen."
