Additional Details

Robert Indiana's infamous LOVE paintings and prints came from a design first used by the artist in 1964 for personal greeting cards. Four Panel Love of 1972 is not the first of such prints by Indiana, but it is by far one of his more ambitious projects incorporating the design. It is comprised of four large sheets, each printed to the edges, and based on Indiana's large four panel painting The Great American LOVE Wall (1972). The painting was included in his 1972 solo exhibition at the Galerie Denise René, New York.
