Arena Brains was also the title of a short film directed by Longo (born 1953) and released in 1987. Described on IMDb as a, "short, weird film about a group of New Yorkers," the movie starred Ray Liotta, Eric Bogosian (who co-wrote with Longo); Steve Buscemi; and Sean Young, along with a cameo by Michael Stipe, lead singer of the alternative rock band R.E.M. In the 1980s, Longo directed additional films / television episodes, as well as several popular music videos, for songs including New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" (1986) and "The One I Love" by R.E.M. (1987).
