Pencil on smooth wove paper, early 1890s. 355x275 mm; 14x10 7/8 inches. With the artist's initials ink stamp, lower right recto. Ex-collection Davis Galleries, New York, with the label on the frame back.

Bevan worked in Pont-Aven in the mid 1890s and met Gauguin there in 1894. He settled in London in 1900 and by the end of the decade, with Walter Sickert, had founded the Camden Town Group of artists.
