The Montreux-Oberland-Bernois Railway, operating between Montreux and Zweisimmen, is one of Switzerland's oldest electric railway lines. The Golden Mountain Pullman Express was a short-lived adventure in luxury which the railway put into service in the summer of 1931. Envisioned as taking affluent travelers on one of the most stunning alpine routes, the Golden Express featured Pullman lounge cars and dinning cars and was only meant to run in the summer. The line ran from May 15th to September 15th in 1931, but met with such disappointing results that the service was subsiquently terminated.
