Frederic Sauvage was a progenitor of the propeller as the most efficient means of making boats move through water (as opposed to paddle wheels along the sides of the craft). Although he died before his idea caught on, he is still celebrated as a pioneer in the field. For the events surrounding the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sauvage's first propelled boat trip, Soubie (well known for his travel and movie posters), presents a montage of the man, his invention and the vehicles they power in the modern world.
