Condition B / B+: repaired tears, restoration and overpainting in margins and image; handwritten addressee. Very little biographical information exists on Stoll. His few paintings in public institutions (The Cleveland Museum of Art) show a far less dramatic and graphic flair than his posters. His suggestive, sophisticated Art Deco-inspired images for the Kokoon Club are infused with an energy, passion, flair, and hedonistic spirit that elevate them to a unique position within the world of pre-World War II American graphics.
