"Rolly's 'Doper Posters' are some of Crump's most popular designs of the 1950s. Loaded with tongue-in-cheek humor, about a somewhat touchy subject matter, these posters are the perfect representation of Rolly's style and wit" (Van Eaton Galleries, Rolly Crump, p. 18).

Crump was an imagineer for Walt Disney, and an assistant animator on such classics as Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and Sleeping Beauty. He also contributed to "It's a Small World" for the 1964-5 World's Fair in New York (most recognizably the stylized facade of the building), and the large "Tower of the Four Winds" sculpture in front of the pavilion. In addition to his work for Disney, Crump also designed a number of satirical, less family-friendly posters on political and social themes.
