Adams's Profile in Blue, a self-portrait at the press, is a tour-de-force of stone lithography printed in 7 colors. This print is the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington D.C.

Ron Adams is a master printer who in 1969 trained at Gemini, G.E.L, in Los Angeles with founder Kenneth Tyler, where he printed for Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, and Roy Lichtenstein. In 1974, he opened his own print shop, Hand Graphics, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he worked with many significant artists, including John Biggers on his most celebrated lithograph The Upper Room, and Charles White on his last suite of etchings and lithographs. His work has been exhibited in over 25 museums, and is in the permanent collections of many national institutions.
