Wheeler, expressing delight at the results being reported by a majority of the counties [in the Democratic primary for NY State Senator, despite his defeat to Tammany Hall's candidate James W. Gerard], vowing to support Gerard in the Senate race, remarking that the Republican candidate is a reactionary, and expressing optimism for the future. 1 1/2 pages, 4to, written on the first and fourth pages of a folded sheet, "Assistant Secretary" stationery; horizontal fold.
