Additional Details

'. . . May I ask you confidentially about a matter which has been on my mind for sometime? I have been a Trustee of the Cathedral for about a quarter of a century . . . . I have not been to a meeting since 1928, before I went to Albany. From the point of view of usefulness, therefore, I have no right to continue to serve.
'There is, however, another reason . . . . I feel so little sympathy with many of the words and actions of the Bishop. Frankly, many of these words and actions are, from my point of view, unchristian. . . .'
