The letter, to Secretary of Agriculture James Wilson, introducing architect C. Grant LaFarge, recommending that he be considered to build the proposed agricultural building. 1 page, 4to, "Vice President's Chamber" stationery; moderate fading to signature, faint toning at upper left corner. With the original envelope, mounted at corners to front free endpaper (behind letter). Also with a slip of paper signed and dated by Wister on April 26, 1906 mounted to front pastedown, and a small ALS by Edith Kermit Roosevelt to Dr. Morgan concerning payment for medical visits dated August 11 [1904] mounted along left edge to half-title. The book, 8vo, publisher's cloth, corners bumped, some rubbing to spine ends; publisher's advance review label on front pastedown, bookseller's label on front pastedown, moderate scattered foxing to preliminaries; lacking dust jacket.
