Additional Details

". . . I had a delightful visit to the South, and above all to Roswell. I felt as if I was seeing an old home of my childhood, I remembered so vividly the stories Mother and Aunt Annie used to tell us.
". . . Did I have a chance to tell you how highly Ted thinks of [his nephew Stewart Douglas Robinson], not merely in the way of liking him but in the way of respecting him? Give him my love and tell him he is a trump. . . ."
Roosevelt's mother, Martha Bulloch Roosevelt, grew up in the village that became Roswell, GA. In December of 1853, when Martha married Theodore Roosevelt Sr., the couple moved to New York City, where they remained.
