Lawhorne taught at Santa Barbara College beginning in 1926, also at the Brooks Institute of Photography. He designed at least four posters for the Old Spanish Days Fiesta from the late 1930s through the early 1940s. It seems clear from the presence of their logo on these posters that Seaside Gasoline was the major sponsor of the event over the years. rare
