Additional Details

Gabriel de Rumine (1841-71) was of Russian noble lineage. He became a member of the Société Française de Photographie, in 1858, and by 1859 had established one of the most technologically advanced studios in Paris. He accompanied Duke Constantine on a journey around the Mediterranean, and later exhibited in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. His work is rare and few large prints have survived.<
