Quarto, second edition, the blank Mm6 present; illustrated with text woodcuts throughout, many near full-page; leaves carefully restored with deft corner paper repairs, 16th century paper document used as flyleaves, front and back; bound in modern full red morocco, neat contemporary marginal notes, especially in the first half; 8 3/4 x 6 in.
Printing, type design, layout, and illustrations that can only be described as elegant, the first edition of this work appeared in 1550, in which Rojas introduces his innovations to the design of the astrolabe.
