First edition, quarto, inscribed to journalist and Roosevelt's aide Oscar King Davis on the front flyleaf, "To O.K. Davis, with the esteem and regard of his friend," dated September 22, 1910; half-title present; illustrated with photogravure frontispiece and forty-nine plates (most with tissue guards preserved); bound in publisher's full brown cloth with gilt stamping, teg., edges left rough; sporadic dampstaining along the top margin, occasional smudged stains, a few tiny closed tears; spine faded, bumped with a few chips to spine head, with textblock cracked in one place; housed in a green morocco-backed slipcase and chemise; 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 in.
