Limited edition, first issue in book form, octavo; one of 73 copies printed; bound in brown cloth-backed boards, gilt-lettered label to front; 8 x 5 in. Originally printed as an article in Harper's Magazine in 1886, this is Roosevelt's appeal to young men enamored with the picturesque life of the cowboy to consider its hardships and dangers.

2) Value of an Athletic Training. New York: Privately Printed, 1929. Limited edition, first issue in book form, 12mo; number 48 of 50 copies printed; illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Roosevelt in his Harvard boxing costume; bound in printed wrappers; with the original stitched glassine jacket (small losses to glassine); housed in a custom quarter morocco clamshell box; 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.
