First edition; large octavo; two parts in one volume; woodcut device to title page; illustrated throughout with text woodcuts and 4 folding woodcut maps (each map mounted on heavy paper consistent with endleaves, most likely done at the time of the original binding; bound in full period calf decorated with gilt ruling to boards, double-laurel tool, with gilt-decorated spine and original label (one text leaf with burn hole with loss; front joint cracked at head and tail compartments; back joint at head only, small area of bio-predation along top edge of front board; a binding created with substantial leather, unsophisticated and structurally functional); 9 3/8 x 6 5/8 in.
