"The top end of the thermometer points to Chicago, Eastern Airlines' Midwest terminus, and its bulb is plunked down right in between EAL's destinations near Florida's east and west coasts. The artwork does not focus on the . . . detail about the route, the cities served, or specifics of the DC-2 - but instead, highlights [that] . . . the weather is 76 degrees warm in Florida" (Fly Now p. 169).
