SALVADOR DALÍ
Die Göttliche Komödie.

Portfolio in 3 volumes with complete text and 100 color woodcuts (each matted individually), 1959-63 (published 1974). 330x262 mm; 13x10 3/8 inches (sheets), full margins.

One of 1000 numbered copies. Numbered 89 on the justification page. Printed by Ateliers Jacquet and Taricco, Paris. Published by Art--Créations--Bibliophile, Geneva. Red, purple and blue paste board portfolios.

According to Field, the German dealer Dr. Jawdat Naffouj, Landstuhl, bought this edition from the publisher of the first Divine Comedy edition, Jean Estrade, and issued the series, with only text for the table of contents, in 1974. Though Naffouj sold approximately 386 sets, according to Field, other dealers handled this second edition as well, so it is unclear how many of the total 1000 sets were sold altogether. Field pp. 189-200.
