SALVADOR DALÍ
King of Aragon.

Color etching and mezzotint, 3 unique color proofs, on BFK Rives, 1971-72. Each 355x375 mm; 14x14 3/4 inches, full margins. Each artist's proofs, aside from the edition of 250. One inscribed "E.A." and "identique au B à T" in pencil, lower left (printed in reddish orange, dark blue and black); the other 2 inscribed "E.A." in pencil, lower left (one printed in reddish brown, tan, dark blue and black; the other printed in tan, rose, dark blue and black). Very good impressions of these extremely scarce proofs.

This etching was intended for the first edition of La Vida es Sueño, but was never used in that unrealized project and was subsequently published in the second edition (from a smaller plate reproducing the original etching). Michler/Löpsinger 528; Field 72-16.
