This large work on paper was made the year after Sam Middleton settled in his present home of Amsterdam. Middleton is known for his multimedia works in collage, and his association with jazz music. He first left the U.S. for Mexico in 1955 before moving to Europe, living in Spain, Sweden and Denmark, before finally settling in the Netherlands in 1962.
