Additional Details

Weber was an important female American Illustrator who was a favorite student under Howard Pyle. She was also a founding member of The Plastic Club - a women's art association for the promotion and exhibition of visual (plastic) arts. With her works gracing the covers of Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and Collier's, she was one of the most successful, sought-after female illustrators of her time reported to have been making an astonishing $15,000 per year by 1910. This piece is representative of her effortless style celebrating both beauty and the lingering tranquility of the Victorian era. This offering is the 6th painting by Weber to appear at auction.
