Sascha Maurer worked for several of the most prominent Eastern American Railroad companies. Throughout his career, he made posters for the New York Central Line, The Pennsylvania Railroad and the New Haven Railroad. Maurer was "proud of the wartime poster, Washington, which framed the capitol dome with a single Doric column, his metaphor for the solidity of Democracy" (Zega p. 114). rare. We could find only one other copy at auction.
