Additional Details

first collected edition of writings by Schöner (1477-1547), a notable polymath of the German Renaissance, comprising works on astrology, astronomy, geography, globes, and astronomical instruments, all seldom seen in their original editions. The final part is a revised and expanded version of his 1521 Aequatorium astronomicum, the earliest collection of printed equatoria—diagrams with volvelles serving as analog devices for the computation of planetary positions—and the presumable inspiration for Peter Apian's Astronomicum Caesareum.
